Duke Energy is a participant in a collaborative utility project that seeks to field-demonstrate and evaluate end-use products that are designed to be Demand Response (DR) Ready by way of inclusion of the Consumer Electronics Association’s ANSI/CEA-2045 standard interface.

In preparation for this field testing, Duke Energy is performing laboratory testing of communication modules and end-use devices as they become available from manufacturers.  This report presents the results of one such test event.  This testing was conducted at Duke Energy’s EnergyWise laboratory in Saint Petersburg, Florida December 16th through 18th, 2013.

The testing provides utilities and vendors with much-needed feedback regarding early implementations and is performed in order to simplify and prepare for field testing.
